You might consider making your own bridal shower favors. Bridal shower favors are nice mementos for your guests to take home after the shower. If they are something that you have made yourself, it makes them all the more special.

Tasty Treats

Something that is always a big hit with a group of women is sweets. Homemade candy is a nice bridal shower favor. There are many different kinds of molds for shaping candy. You should be able to find one that goes with your theme. Homemade fudge is another favorite. Candy can be put in small boxes or bags with little notes or the names of the bride and groom along with the wedding date.

There are so many treats that you could make. Jars of jam or jelly along with a card attached with the words "Spread the love" or some other cute saying on it.

Candles

Homemade candles also make great bridal shower favor ideas. Candles can be created in many sizes, shapes and colors. Essential oils can be added to the wax to add a nice scent. You can use a variety of scents and colors or simply stick with one or two colors. Try using the wedding colors to make them more interesting. Most women love candles and will enjoy the fact that you took the time to make them yourself. There are numerous online stores that offer candle-making supplies or sometimes you can find them at some retail stores. You can also include a special note with the candle with a saying like "Our love will burn for an eternity".

Flowers, Flowers, and More Flowers

Flowers can be used to create several homemade bridal shower favors. Pressing flower petal imprints on small white paper bags is one option. Use petals from fresh flowers, lay the bags flat, place the petals decoratively around on the outside of the bag. Next, cover the bags and petals with newspaper and set something heavy on top. It is best to put these in a place that will be out of your way because it must sit for about a week. This will leave beautiful, colored imprints from the petals on the bags. These can be used as gift bags.

If you are running short on time, place the petals on the bags and cover with a piece of cardboard. Hold the cardboard in place and strike it with a hammer several times. This method may not produce an effect quite like the one listed above, but it works in a pinch.

Once you have completed all the bags, fill them with fun things such as flower seeds or some type of flower bulb wrapped in cellophane to keep with the theme. Attach a note such as "Planting the seeds of love" to the outside of the bag.

You can also use the flower petal to make stickers for things such as homemade bookmarks. Use pieces of clear packing tape, gently place the flower petals on the non-sticky side. Carefully place another piece of tape with the sticky side down over the flower to seal it in. This will leave one sticky side ready to be used.

Paper Favors

Homemade bookmarks are a simple homemade craft that would make a nice bridal shower favor. There are many ways to create a bookmark. You can stencil or print your favorite love poem and laminate them using clear packing tape. All you do is lay a piece of tape down sticky side up and carefully place the bookmark on top. Take another piece of tape and place it on top with the sticky side down. Seal it carefully and cut of the excess tape.

Paper fans can be created by printing the menu or program for the shower on nice paper and fold them in the shape of a fan or other origami type shapes.

Personalized CD

CD's have become very popular and they are so easy to burn on the computer. This can be a lot of fun to create by personalizing them for your bridal shower guests. Add songs that may be special to the bride and groom or songs that are popular at the current time. Make your own personalized labels to go along with your theme. You can even come up with a special message for the cover.
